Tinnitus
In many cases, tinnitus is not a serious condition, but it is an annoying problem that people wish to eliminate.
Tinnitus, commonly known as ringing in the ears, is not a disease in itself. Instead, it is a symptom caused by underlying conditions. Millions of people worldwide, including in our country, experience tinnitus.
In some cases, medication or surgical intervention may be necessary to manage or prevent tinnitus.
There are two types of tinnitus: Subjective tinnitus: The more common type, where the ringing is perceived only by the patient. Objective tinnitus: A much rarer type, where the ringing can be heard by both the patient and others.
Some Tinnitus Is Normal
When a person enters a soundproof room, isolated from all external noise, they may hear sounds originating from within their own head. In everyday life, these normal bodily sounds are masked by external noises, making them inaudible. However, factors such as earwax or foreign objects in the outer ear can block external sounds. This reduction in external noise can amplify internal sounds, leading to an abnormal condition that may cause significant discomfort.
