Hearing Loss

Home/Hearing Loss

Experiencing hearing loss as you age is normal. Around 60% of individuals over the age of 65 and 90% of those aged 80 and above experience varying degrees of hearing loss.

However, increased exposure to noise in today’s world accelerates the effects of the aging process on hearing.

Hearing loss usually progresses gradually, and most people do not notice it until they require a hearing aid.

If you experience the following:

  • You increase the volume of the TV or radio to hear it clearly, but others find the sound too loud,
  • You have difficulty hearing conversations,
  • You misunderstand words during conversations and frequently ask people to repeat themselves,
  • You focus intently on people’s faces while listening to them,
  • Your effort to hear decreases when you feel unwell or tired,
  • You feel that people no longer speak as clearly and intelligibly as they used to,
  • You have had an ear infection, experience ringing in the ears, or feel dizzy, you should consult a doctor for a hearing loss test.
