Brow Lift Operation
Eyebrows are one of the most important features that define our facial expression. Eyebrows that droop downward often create a tired, sad, or aged appearance.
Various factors such as aging, genetic predisposition, weight fluctuations, and certain medical conditions (e.g., facial paralysis, tumors) can cause eyebrows to sag. In some cases, the sagging can become so severe that it obstructs the patient’s vision.
A brow lift operation restores a youthful and energetic expression to the face.
There are different surgical techniques for brow lifts, and the appropriate method is determined based on the patient’s needs. The most commonly performed technique involves making an incision within the scalp. The procedure is conducted under general anesthesia. Through a small incision, a few centimeters long, made within the hairline, the tissues beneath the eyebrows are lifted upward. The operation typically takes about one hour, and the patient can resume daily activities immediately afterward. Stitches are removed after one week. Swelling and mild discomfort around the forehead and eyes may persist for 4–5 days. In very rare cases, temporary loss of sensation may occur at the edges of the eyebrows, but this usually resolves within a few weeks. Since the incision is made within the scalp, scars remain hidden. The final results of the operation become apparent approximately three months after the procedure.
